New Members Elected to the 2011-2012 AAIDD Board


AAIDD is delighted to announce that two new members have been elected to its national board of Directors. Their terms of office begin July 1, 2011.

 

James Thompson, PhD, elected Vice President

Current Position: Professor, Department of Special Education, Illinois State University, Normal, IL


Education: PhD, Educational Psychology/Special Education, University of Minnesota; MS in Education,  Educational Administration, Illinois State University; BS in Education, Special Education, Illinois State University

AAIDD Participation: Lead Author, Supports Intensity Scale; Author or Co-author of 19 journal articles, web articles, newsletter articles, book chapters, and books published by AAIDD; Presenter of 31 workshops and session presentations at AAIDD state, regional, and national conferences; Member of AAIDD’s Ad Hoc committees on Terminology & Classification and Supports Intensity Assessment; Consulting Editor, American Journal and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Amy Hewitt, PhD, elected Member-at-Large

Current Positon: Senior Research Associate and Training Director at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration (UCEDD) and Associate Director for Minnesota’s LEND program.
