An Academy of Country Music (ACM) Lifting Lives Moment received the 2012 Media Award today at the 136th annual meeting of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD).
The Media Award is given for significant contributions in depicting Americans with disabilities in a positive light.
ACM Lifting Lives is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music. The 2011 ACM Awards Lifting Lives Moment honored Nashville’s Vanderbilt Kennedy Center and its work with men and women with developmental disabilities across the country.
Founded in 1876, AAIDD is the oldest professional society concerned with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
