AAIDD's Environmental Health Initiative organizes its activities and projects into three subject matter workgroups: Education, Outreach and Training; Policy and Legislative Issues; and Research and Science Issues. These focus areas have continuous projects and ongoing materials being produced. People involved in these projects are comprised of AAIDD members, environmental health specialists, disability professionals, researchers, self-advocates, toxicologists, environmental attorneys, and even concerned parents.
The projects arise out of participants interests, time, and other ongoing work. You can participate as little or as much as you'd like. As a project workgroup member you will receive a few relevant emails a month regarding your interest area or ongoing project. To get involved with an AAIDD, or to introduce a new project idea for the EHI, please feel free to Get Involved!
